Bynum Reunion in 1966

Nancy Caroline Rawls (1853-1946)

On December 4, 1878, Nanny married Prentice Montgomery Bynum. She also became the step-mother of Prentice's three young children, Aurelia, Mary and Ben.
The following children were born to the marriage of Nanny and Prentice:
Ida Burtie, 1881-1979 (m. William G. Loggins)The 1880 census shows the family living in Covington County, Mississippi.
Prentice Buford, 1883-1905
John Franklin, 1886-1895
Felix Jefferson, 1888-1974
Charity Pear, 1890-1891
Robert Everett, 1891-1966 (m. Onie R. Roberts)
Willard William, 1893-1906
Nanny Nita, 1896-1982

The 1900 census shows the family living in Marion County, Mississippi.

Nanny's husband, Prentice, died in 1906 and in 1907, Nanny filed for his Civil War Pension.
1910-1940 census records show Nanny Bynum living in Lamar County, Mississippi.

Nancy Caroline "Nanny" Rawls Bynum passed from this life on February 17, 1944. She was ninety years old. She is buried alongside her husband in Rawles Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.
