Mary Bush Edmonds was born Clarke County, Georgia on April 6, 1855. She was the eighth child born to the marriage of James Powell Edmonds and Rebecca Ann Snow.
The 1860 U.S. Census show Mary living with her family in Dark Corner, Clarke County, Georgia.
Mary and family are shown living in Monroe, Walton County, Georgia in the 1870 U.S. Census.
On November 7, 1875, Mary Bush Edmonds married James Thomas Brown in Monroe, Walton County, Georgia.
The 1880 U.S. Census shows Mary, James, two of their ten children and Mary's mother, Rebecca living in Blasingames, Walton County, Georgia. Mary's father, James Powell Edmonds died in 1864 during the Civil War.
Mary, James and their ten children are shown living in Allens, Walton County, Georgia in the 1900 U.S. Census.
The 1910 U.S. Census shows Mary, James and four of their children living in Brooks, Walton County, Georgia.
I have been unable to confirm the residence of Mary and James for census years 1920 and 1930. However, both Mary and James died in Walton County, Georgia within a few years of the 1930 census so the assumption is made that they resided in the same area for those years.
Mary Bush Edmonds Brown died on March 8, 1931. James Thomas Brown died on February 11, 1933. Both are buried in the Brown Gresham Cemetery in Walton County, Georgia. Tombstone photograph was taken by FindAGrave member, Scott A. Steinbrink.
