Nancy Caroline "Nanny" Rawls was born in Marion County, Mississippi on July 19, 1853 to the marriage of Benjamin Franklin Rawls, III and Charity Pamillia Duckworth.
On December 4, 1878, Nanny married
Prentice Montgomery Bynum. She also became the step-mother of Prentice's three young children, Aurelia, Mary and
Ben.

Nancy Caroline "Nanny" Rawls Bynum passed from this life on February 17, 1944. She was ninety years old. She is buried alongside her husband in Rawles Cemetery, Lamar County, Mississippi.
